Medical Coding

Job Description

  • To analyze medical records and assigns codes to classify diagnoses and procedures to support the reimbursement system, to support assessment of clinical care, and to support medical research activity.
  • Allocate codes to patients’ current period of care, using knowledge of the information contained within the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, commonly referred to as ICD-9-CM.
  • Clarify inconsistent, doubtful or non-specific information in a medical record by consulting with the Manager Coding.
  • Responsible for timeliness and accuracy of medical records.
  • Remain current with both ICD-9-CM and CPT code updates and informs providers of code changes.

Eligibility

  • 3+ years of experience in Medical Coding.
  • Any of CPC-H, CPC-P or CCS certified.
  • Broad knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and disease processes.
  • Able to work with a high degree of precision, paying attention to detail in order to achieve the high levels of accuracy required.
  • Effective organizational skills, methodical work practices, and high attention to detail.

Eligibility & Prior Authorization Associate

Job Description

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits in real-time using payer portals and clearinghouse tools prior to service delivery
  • Review and process prior authorization requests for medical procedures, medications, and services in accordance with payer guidelines and clinical criteria.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and clinical staff to obtain necessary approvals and resolve authorization-related issues.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to initiating the authorization process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all authorization requests, approvals, denials, and follow-ups in the system.
  • Stay updated on payer-specific authorization requirements, policies, and formulary changes to ensure compliance.

Eligibility

  • 3+ years of experience in insurance eligibility verification and prior authorization or related healthcare revenue cycle role.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • Familiarity with payer portals and authorization submission platforms (Availity, NaviNet, etc.).
  • Ability to manage high volumes of requests with accuracy and within turnaround time expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with payers and clinical teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Client services focus with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Competency in EMR/practice management systems.

AR Associate

Job Description

  • Investigate and resolve outstanding accounts receivable (AR) balances by working unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims across multiple payers.
  • Follow up on submitted claims, identify root causes of denials, and initiate appropriate corrective actions including appeals.
  • Generate and review aging AR reports to prioritize follow-up and reduce days in AR.

Eligibility

  • 3+ years of experience in insurance eligibility verification and/or accounts receivable follow-up.
  • Solid understanding of EOBs, ERAs, claim denial codes, and payer reimbursement methodologies.
  • Experience working with government and commercial payers including Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify billing discrepancies and determine appropriate resolution paths.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with payers, providers, and internal billing teams.

RCM Quality Analyst

Job Description

  • Audit and evaluate revenue cycle processes including coding, billing, claims submission, and AR follow-up to ensure accuracy and compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify trends in claim denials, underpayments, and errors, and provide actionable feedback to operations and leadership teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance frameworks, scorecards, and performance benchmarks for RCM functions.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and document findings with recommendations for process improvement and training needs.
  • Collaborate with coding, billing, and client services teams to drive continuous quality improvement across the revenue cycle.

Eligibility

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management with a focus on quality assurance or auditing.
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines, and payer-specific billing requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Experience developing audit tools, QA checklists, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.
  • Competency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.

RCM Transition Manager

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding and transition of new RCM client accounts, ensuring seamless migration of billing operations, workflows, and data from client systems to Promantra's platform.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the transition phase, managing expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with coding, billing, IT, and operations teams to establish workflows, system configurations, and training plans tailored to each client.
  • Identify transition risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to the client's revenue cycle during the go-live period.
  • Monitor post-transition performance metrics and conduct structured handoff to the steady-state operations team upon successful stabilization.

Eligibility

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare RCM operations, with at least 2 years in a client-facing or project/transition management role.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle processes including eligibility, coding, billing, AR, and denial management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client transitions simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust with client leadership.
  • Experience with practice management systems and RCM platforms.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and documentation.
  • Competency in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
